My dad's been hooked on westerns his whole life, so this hit the mark. The shipping goods for points mechanic keeps everyone at the table scheming instead of just hoarding metal. First game ran almost two hours because nobody wanted to stop.
I picked this up for my dad since he loves westerns, and we ended up playing three rounds straight on Father's Day. The camp and resource gathering mechanics are simple enough to teach in ten minutes, but shipping goods for points keeps it tense right to the end.
The claim-staking mechanic in the boom town is what keeps us coming back, there's real strategy in deciding when to ship goods versus hold them. Only gripe is the rulebook could explain the camp setup a bit more clearly for first-timers.
