Tarman vs Misfits Holiday Fiend Pin: Collector's Comparison

Quick answer

Choose the Tarman enamel pin if you want a recognizable horror movie monster from Return of the Living Dead. Choose the Misfits Holiday Fiend pin if you prefer a punk-rock holiday twist on the Misfits fiend. Both are officially licensed, full-color enamel pins with locking pin backs, and both are priced at $7.19 (compared to $9.99).

Design and fandom: horror movie vs punk rock holiday

The Tarman pin features the iconic zombie from Return of the Living Dead, a character beloved by horror fans for its practical effects and dark humor. It appeals to collectors who focus on movie monsters and classic 80s horror. The Misfits Holiday Fiend pin, on the other hand, puts a festive spin on the Misfits' fiend skull logo, blending punk rock attitude with holiday cheer. It's a natural pick for music fans who want a subtle nod to the band during the season. Both pins are officially licensed, so you're getting authentic merchandise. Your choice comes down to whether you want a straight horror reference or a holiday-themed rock icon.

Construction and backing: what to expect from both pins

Both pins share the same high-quality construction: full-color enamel with a locking pin back. The locking back is a practical feature that keeps the pin secure on a shirt, jacket, or backpack, reducing the chance of losing it. The enamel finish is durable and holds color well over time. Since both pins use the same backing type, there's no functional trade-off here. The difference is purely in the design and what it represents.

Price and value: identical cost, different appeal

At $7.19 each (regularly $9.99), both pins offer the same value proposition. You're paying for an officially licensed collectible with quality hardware. If you're deciding between the two, price won't be the deciding factor. Instead, think about which design you'll actually wear or display. If you collect horror movie memorabilia, the Tarman pin is a no-brainer. If you're a Misfits fan or want a holiday-themed pin, the Holiday Fiend is the better fit.

Trade-offs to consider

• Design theme: Tarman is a horror movie monster; Holiday Fiend is a punk rock holiday twist. Pick based on whether you want straight horror or festive rock.
• Backing type: Both pins have locking pin backs, so security is equal. No trade-off here; both are equally reliable.
• Price: Both are $7.19 (regular $9.99). Price is identical, so choose by design.
