LA-1では、1人から5人のプレイヤーが、かつてロサンゼルスだった終末後の都市で事件を解決する、Mace & Doyle探偵事務所の探偵の役割を担います。LA-1は推理ゲームではなく、プレイヤーが手がかりトークンを集めて事件や容疑者に適用する、ストーリー主導の協力型アドベンチャーです。多くの事件には複数のバージョンがあり、同じ事件を再度プレイしても捜査はまったく異なる方向に進むことがあります。プレイヤーは協力して張り込みや捜査を行い、暗闇が迫る前に各事件を解決するためにスキルとリソースを活用する必要があります。

My dad and I cracked our first case on Father’s Day and the cooperative tension was spot on — no deduction arguments, just pure teamwork figuring out the clues together. The 5-player cap is perfect since my brothers joined in without the game slowing down.
The cooperative 1-5 player setup is perfect for game nights with my dad, and the detective roleplay feels genuinely immersive without turning into a boring deduction puzzle. I love how we’re all working together to crack cases in the ruined city, and it’s kept us engaged for hours.
The post-apocalyptic LA setting is a nice change from the usual noir detective stuff. Even with just two of us playing, the cases feel meaty enough that we’re never just going through the motions, and the whole whodunit angle keeps things fresh.
