My dad grew up on these books and the mask looks exactly like the cover art, right down to the cracked green skin. The latex has a solid rubbery feel without being stiff. He's already planning to wear it on Halloween.
The latex on this mask has a great rubbery smell and the paint job actually looks hand-done, not printed. I wore it for a full night of handing out candy and it stayed comfortable the whole time.
I've wanted this thing since I was a kid scared of that book cover, and the mask finally delivers. The rubber is thick and holds its shape well on a shelf or your face, no flimsy plastic feel. Only wish the eye holes were a touch bigger, but honestly it's staying displayed year-round anyway.
