Reptile Mask Pre-Order Guide: What Mortal Kombat Fans Should Expect

Quick Answer

The officially licensed Mortal Kombat II Reptile Mask is a pre-order item priced at $17.99 (compared to $29.99). It features a cloth hood and plastic face shield, making it a solid choice for cosplay, display, or completing your MK ninja lineup. If you want Reptile's signature green look without a custom build, this is a straightforward option.

What exactly is included with the Reptile Mask?

The mask consists of two main components: a cloth hood and a plastic face shield. The hood covers your head and neck, while the shield sits over your face to create Reptile's masked appearance. This is not a full costume or a resin statue—it's a wearable mask designed for costume use. The combination of fabric and plastic keeps the weight down compared to all-plastic masks, which matters if you plan to wear it for hours at a convention.

How does the Reptile Mask fit?

Trick or Treat Studios does not publish specific head measurements for this mask. The cloth hood provides some flexibility, but the plastic face shield has a fixed shape. If you have a larger head or wear glasses, you may need to adjust the hood or consider whether the shield will sit comfortably. For most average adult head sizes, the hood should stretch enough to wear, but it's not a one-size-fits-all guarantee. If you're between sizes or unsure, plan to test the fit as soon as it arrives and be prepared to add padding or adjust the hood's positioning.

Is this mask good for cosplay?

Yes, it's designed with cosplay in mind. The cloth hood and plastic shield capture Reptile's green ninja look from Mortal Kombat II without requiring you to sculpt or sew your own. It pairs well with a green tunic or ninja outfit, and the lightweight materials make it easier to wear for long periods. However, because the face shield is plastic, it may fog up or restrict peripheral vision. If you're planning a photoshoot or convention appearance, practice wearing it beforehand to get used to the visibility.

What should I know about pre-ordering?

This is a pre-order item, meaning it's not yet in stock and will ship at a later date. The price is $17.99, reduced from the comparison price of $29.99. Pre-ordering reserves your mask before the initial run sells out, which is common for officially licensed collectibles. Keep in mind that pre-order timelines can shift, so if you need the mask for a specific event, order early and check the estimated shipping window. Also note that pre-order items are often final sale, so confirm the return policy before committing.

How does this compare to other Mortal Kombat masks?

Trick or Treat Studios offers several officially licensed Mortal Kombat masks, including Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The Reptile Mask stands out for its green color scheme and the combination of cloth and plastic. If you're building a group cosplay or want to display multiple ninjas, this mask fits right in. For a full breakdown of how the different MK masks compare for cosplay, see our separate comparison guide. The Reptile Mask is a good entry point if you want a recognizable character without a high price tag.

Reptile Mask Pre-Order FAQ

When will my pre-order ship?

The product page does not list a specific release date. Pre-order timelines are set by the manufacturer and can change. Check the product page for updates or contact customer service for the latest estimate. If you need it by a certain date, wait for a confirmed in-stock listing or reach out before ordering.

Can I wear this mask with glasses?

The plastic face shield may not accommodate glasses comfortably. The cloth hood is flexible, but the shield's fixed shape could press against frames. If you wear glasses, consider a different mask style or plan to wear contacts. Try the mask on over your glasses as soon as it arrives; if it's too tight, you may need to return it.

Is this mask suitable for kids?

The mask is designed for adult collectors and cosplayers. It does not come in child sizes, and the plastic shield may be too large for a child's face. Adult supervision is recommended if a child wears it. For younger fans, look for a child-specific costume mask instead.
